I am researching the origins, impact and consequences of the Jameson Raid 1895.. Has any member any information on this incident?

Hi David,

Welcome to the forum!

There is quite a lot of information available on the Jameson Raid (though not necessarily on this site) to help you.

I also know of someone who has recently spent several years researching a book on the men of the Raid which, I would imagine from the person involved, will be the definitive work on the participants.

Have you read the published books on the Raid?

Best wishes
David

Hello David and welcome,
I added a whole Dr Jameson section to my library some years ago now and whilst the origins, impact and consequences of the raid are of some interest to me, it is the raid and the men that took part in it that remain the focus of my interest.
I was, however, quite surprised at the level of support that Dr Jameson and his boys had here in Great Britain in the aftermath of the event, despite the Colonial office being "in it up to their necks" and its infamous denial.

The Anglo Boer War was that much closer!

Regards Frank

David,
I forgot to add this, a real favorite of mine, it was published in The Times on the 3rd of January 1896!
Regards again Frank
