Hi Frank - yip that is the grey zone. I'm starting with a needle in the haystack which means I have no information to start the search. So what would you suggest for me as a starting point:(

Hello Mike,
In the case of the Boers it was rather more than the odd citizen, even just a brief look at the German Commando nominal roll and one can see that there are hundreds of the devils!
There was also a Free State German Corps, moreover, I think Leutnant Lothar Kunze and his men played it out to the bitter end in the Transvaal!
Regards Frank

Hello Linda.....

I am in the same boat as Frank..... There were no organized German Troops (Division) fighting with the British during the BW but there was the odd German citizen that fought on both sides.....

Thanks Frank - due to the sensitivity of the research involved I'm starting from a blank canvass hence my inquiry/advice I seek. I will try and obtain information on the town and the area and if u're able to direct me to a link on the web site or other that you know of, I will be most grateful. Lindi
