Hi David,
I have been in touch with my cousin and he assures me that my GF was invited to something important that took place around 1959/1960 when was GF was about 80 for survivors of the Boer War, my cousin was in his 30s at the time so remembers it very well. Does anyone on here know of any event relating to the Boer war Survivors about that time?

I have been in touch with my cousin and he never heard any mention of your grandfather in the family, he was only a baby at the time of your grandfather's passing, we can only assume they knew each other!

Hi, I recently found my grandfather George Goodger Clark's Attestation Papers for the Boer War, There are two sets of the same document with different handwriting, would that be normal? They are very informative & detailed however my grandfather states he wasn't married and had no children even though he had been married for over a year and had a son!
Could there be an explanation for this? For example the authorities weren't allowed to take on married men of men with children and were hard up for volunteers and happy to get all who presented themselves and just covered up in this manner? Perhaps this sounds silly but what possible explanation could there be?

May I upload these papers here so you experts can examine them to understand them better?
