Hi I have just been tracing my husband's great uncle - James Aughton - who served on HMS Terrible. Records seem to show he was at Ladysmith. He received both KSA and QSA medals. It says on the record that he got clasps 20 and 22. What are these clasps for please?

With the medal number - 7169 - is there any way of trying to trace the wereabouts of the medal? Probably not!

You just have to be lucky that it is in someones collection and has not been melted down in the big silver booms which many medals were.....

I know he is not in my collection....

His actual number is 172.418....

There is a Medal Tracker run by Token Publishing, who publish Medal News.

Given that it's a more expensive QSA, given it's Navy, there is a chance it's in a collection somewhere.
