Spink sold the Kimberley medal for a hammer price of £2,100. Totals (inc VAT on the commission for the UK only): £2,604. R51,700. Au$4,460. Can$4,060. US$3,050

The suspension is atypical and of a heavier gauge than usual, so may be a replacement. Tool marks on the claw certainly suggest that it has, at the very least, been reattached. Perhaps this is why it struggled?
