Does anybody know who made this very poor copper reproduction of the Kimberley Medal, and when?

Perhaps the McGregor Museum?
1970s / 1980s?

No, I have not seen those before. The McGregor would certainly be a possibility or perhaps the Military Museum in Johannesburg or Castle Museum for the 200th anniversary?

You have to ask where are the original dies ?
Some years ago the original dies of the Natal 1906 medal were put up for auction by Garrards ( I seem to remember ). Seemingly they were originally commissioned by the government of the Natal colony and and not the UK authorities , and could thus be sold off. I bought them and before I moved them off to a museum in Natal, I had a local medal maker do a few brass strikings. I found out later that he had made a few for himself, so if you come across any uniface strikings in brass , that is where they came from.
It is possible that the same thing happened with the Kimberley Medal.
