Are these absolute numbers David? In other words net of any returned to the Mint.

Although not a specific focus of mine I have acquired several over the years including one to the Camperdown RA, Highlands RA (with previous service in Murray's Horse as pointed out by Brett) and the Nottingham Road RA.

All have proven to be highly researchable which is a bonus in any language.

Regards

Rory

Many thanks Brett. I have made those two corrections. I will create a map of where they were located which will help too.

Rory,

The numbers are the medals issues to the unit. I will add the roll pages and tot up how many were returned.

British Medals (Rennie Alcock) currently have two for sale on their website. Tpr. E. Oldfield Wilgefontein R.A. @ £270 and Tpr. R.J. Lund Malton R.A. @ £230. They're so infrequently seen on the market I'm wondering if those prices are 'about right' or a bit on the steep side?

I think I am correct in saying that only the Dundee Rifle Assoc. received a Battle clasp.
Here is "H.T.Brown of Dundee Rifle Assctn:"

Having had over 40 years association with Rifle Associations here, I have a soft spot for this one.

IL.

IL,

That's correct.

The Ladysmith TG comprised 3 RA (the Ladysmith Rifle Association, later called the Ladysmith Town Guard Rifle Association, the Klip River Rifle Association and the Natal Government Railway Rifle Association) but their medals were named to the LTG rather than the individual RA.
