Are you thinking the person at Woolwich chose whether to engrave or impress the officers' medals perhaps based on the work load for the engravers and impressers? This is a very plausible hypothesis.

If that was the case, we should start to see the pattern emerging as more examples are posted.

I will be really interested to see how this thread develops.

Rory Offline Senior Member Posts: 3344 Thank you received: 2150	At last count I only have 22 Officers QSA's - they are a mixed bag of Imperial and Colonial; of Fighting Units and Town Guards and many of them have been posted on this forum. I'll do a bit of analysis to see whether or not I can see a trend but, sadly, I don't have enough examples to prove anything conclusive. Regards Rory
