Good Morning Everyone......

I was wondering if anyone here has any information on the following:

23408 TROOPER MICHAEL REGAN, KITCHENER'S HORSE, CAPE COLONY, ORANGE FREE STATE, TRANSVAAL

3460 TROOPER A. E. MUIRHEAD, KITCHENER'S HORSE, RELIEF OF KIMBERLY, ORANGE FREE STATE

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated......

I always liked medals to Kitchener's Horse - they did some hard work and deserve an in-depth Regimental history.
Neither your Regan or Muirhead have an entry in Palmer and you probably already know that the former enlisted at Port Elizabeth on 25/8/00 and the latter was discharged 7/9/00.
Good luck with your further research.
Regards
IL.

Morning Mike

Your man Albert Edwin Muirhead 3460 Kitcheners Horse was discharged medically unfit in 1900. He then decided to move out west. :)

I think he died in Vancouver in 1945 . He had a wife called Edith and a son Chester.
Should be enough clues for you with the Canadian newspapers.

Good luck with the search, will have a look for Regan later.

Dave....

Hi Mike
I have had a good look through the service papers for your man Michael Regan of Kitcheners Horse. Alas, nothing related to him. There doesn't seem to be a WW1 connection ref previous service or pension records. I checked the Canadian and Australian links but no luck. If he did stay on in S A he may be on their records. I did find 2 entries for Micheal Regan who both died in South Africa in 1903 and 1913. I cannot access the records as they are in the N A of Pretoria. The ref numbers are 3571 and 40135. Perhaps our forum colleagues in S A may be able to help. There may be a Kitcheners Horse connection? Good luck.

Best wishes

Thank You Very Much Dave.....

Well I guess Michael will have to be a mystery man for now..... As I have stated many times before, "If we knew all the answers it would be a very boring hobby."
