If anyone is interested......

www.medalsofwar.com/product/the-very-rar...a-captain-in-the-ca/

The very rare ‘Raised Dates’ Q.S.A. awarded to Private T. H. A. Williams, Lord Strathcona’s Horse, who was wounded at Rietfontein in July 1901 and was later a Captain in the Canadian Scouts
$16,800.00

Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, reverse with dates in relief ‘1899 1900’, no clasp (425 Pte. T. H. A. Williams, Ld. Strathcona’s H:) inverted apostrophe as normal.

Only 62 medals with the dated reverse were issued, and 58 of them were to men of Strathcona’s Horse. Williams is entitled to 3 clasps, Natal, Orange Free State and Belfast.

Nearly very fine.

Not for me - broken group. :)

I am guessing the person who bought his KSA is not after the QSA.

Couple of questions:

1. Is it known or estimated how many Raised Date QSAs were minted?

2. Sgt 387 TF Miller, Strathcona's Horse - where did this medal surface? As is known he is not on the medal roll or any military records I can access. Can we hazard a guess who he might be and where his medal was obtained?
