QSA (5) Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (7466 Pte E. Denyer. Vol: Coy The Queen’s).

Described as 'Ernest Henry Denyer was born c. 1880 at Godalming, Surrey, and enlisted for service with the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, The Queen’s (Royal West Surrey) Regiment. He served in South Africa during the Boer War between 16 March 1901 and 30 May 1902 with the 2nd Volunteer Service Company of the 2nd Battalion, The Queens, and his clasp entitlement on the medal roll is confirmed as above.'

Described as 'John Mills Gardner served in South Africa during the Boer War with the 1st Volunteer Service Company of the 2nd Battalion, The Queen’s, between 9 February 1900 and 25 May 1901, with confirmed clasp entitlement as above. He also served during the Great War as a Corporal with the Royal Garrison Artillery.'

Described as 'Albert Collier, of Wrecclesham, Surrey, was born c.1879 in Totton & Eling, Southampton, Hampshire and served in South Africa during the Boer War as a Drummer with 2nd Volunteer Service Company, 2nd Battalion, The Queen’s, between 16 March 1901 and 30 May 1902. He also served during the Great War with the 1st/5th Queen’s, and then in Afghanistan in 1919 with the 1st/4th Battalion.'

MSM London Gazette: 3 September 1920

Described as 'George Friedrich William Schulze was born on 29 December 1879 in Norwich, Norfolk, the son of Albert Schulze (a military tailor, originally from Germany) and Sarah Schulze, of Farnham, Surrey. He served in the Boer War in South Africa with the 2nd Volunteer Service Company of the 2nd Battalion, the Queen’s, between 16 March 1901 and 30 May 1902, with clasp entitlement as above. He later served during the Great War as a Battery Sergeant Major with 227 Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, and was awarded the MSM on 3 September 1920 ‘in recognition of valuable services rendered in India in connection with the War’ (dated 3 June 1919). He died in October 1955 in Devizes, Wiltshire.'

MSM London Gazette: 28 September 1917

Described as 'Edward Cooper was born in London c. 1870 and enlisted for service with the Queen’s Regiment at Guildford on 9 October 1889. He served in South Africa during the Boer War with the 2nd Battalion (entitlement confirmed as above), and remaining with the regiment, later served during the Great War with the 1st/5th Battalion in India and Mesopotamia. During his time in Mesopotamia he was awarded the MSM on 28 September 1917 for ‘devotion to duty’, with entitlement to a Silver War Badge (not present), and he was discharged from the depot on 31 January 1918 at the age of 47, after 28 years’ service, and having maintained an ‘exemplary’ military character throughout. He retired to Dorking, Surrey.'
