[ Great War medals ]

Reginald Severn Tonge, was born c.1879 in Selhurst, Croydon, Surrey, and enlisted for service with the 1st Volunteer Battalion, The Queen’s (Royal West Surrey) Regiment. He served in South Africa during the Boer War between 9 February 1900 and 25 May 1901 with the 1st Volunteer Service Company of the 2nd Battalion, The Queens.

He died of wounds during the Great War, on 17 February 1917, with the 22nd Battalion Royal Fusiliers.

British War and Victory Medals (128459 Cpl. J. M. Gardner. R.A.);

John Mills Gardner served in South Africa during the Boer War with the 1st Volunteer Service Company of the 2nd Battalion, The Queens, between 9 February 1900 and 25 May 1901.

He also served during the Great War as a Corporal with the Royal Garrison Artillery.
