Hi Guys,
Been some time since I have popped in. Hope all have been safe during these trying times?
I recently acquired a QSA to : 40 TPR S PETZER STOCKENSTROOM D.M.C.
I remember there was a discussion on the D.M.C. naming regards this unit but sadly have been unable to find it, my search skills are obviously sadly lacking. Please can any one update me with any relevant info as to why they were named as D.M.C. (CONTINGENT I think?) and not D.M.T. as was the norm?
Regards
Brian

Thank you....

Ok I see it is Corps.
Any idea how many were named up as such or was the whole unit named like this?
I eventually found the Roll... must be an age thing!

Brian...…

Here is the list that I have...…

91 TROOPER H. SCHEEPERS, STOCKENSTROOM D.M.C.
93 TROOPER A.P. WHITTLE, STOCKENSTROOM D.M.C.
98 TROOPER T. J. MARX, SEN. STOCKENSTROOM D.M.C.

and yours

40 TPR S PETZER STOCKENSTROOM D.M.C.

OK I have a theory..... Just something that I was thinking about..... The person who was assigned to name the medals for Stockenstroom put the unit name in with the "C" for Corps as he/she read the form and just changed to Troopers name and left the unit name...…

Mike

P.S. Have not had my morning coffee yet so not thinking straight LOL......

Good Morning Brian...…

The one that I have in my collection was advertised as a DMT and in the description was told that that was an error but when I checked my list of previous sales they were also named DMC so I figured that this was correct...… As I said before when the unit name was inserted into the machine used for naming I would think that rather than re-insert it for each medal they left it and just changed the name etc of the recipient..... I have not seen any with D.M.T.
