Ian,

This is the final bit of info I have for you. It is the cover page for the issue of the 1914-15 Star Certificates. He is listed as 2014 Sgt (K). Baines.

Sadly his CP Attestation papers could not be found, it is possible that they were transferred with him when joining the SAMR. They could then possibly be in his SADF file in Pretoria, I have come across this before.
