J. Buckley among the Greenfield names on Saddleworth's WW1 memorial, known as the Pots and Pans memorial. Well worth visiting, and you can see Manchester away in the distance. I went there in March 2020, my last walk before lockdown began.

Note the names of H. Buckley and Nurse F. Buckley in the column on the left.

The 1939 register entry suggests that Annie may have been John Buckley's sister-in-law. Ben Buckley, born 1885, could have been John's younger brother.

Family Search reveals that one Ben Buckley married Annie Cookson in Saddleworth in 1909. Unfortunately, no images are available to look for further details..
Regards
Arthur

Spot on Arthur - two plus two always makes four.... Ben Buckley is John Buckley's younger brother and his beneficiary in the Register of Soldiers Effects when he was KIA in 1915. He was also Annie's husband (married 1909) and custodian of his late brothers medals - hence their storage in the rusty tin.
