Yes, he was a really sincere person and they were indeed very happy days, ones money seemed to go a lot further back then too!

I started to collect QSA/KSA Groups as well as WW1 Trio's and WW2 Groups back in the late 70's when I joined the SAAF. QSA Groups were a couple of hundred Rand depending on the clasp combinations and were in plentiful supply at the local pawn shops. WW1 medals were the price of a few liters of petrol. WW2 groups almost given away!!!

Those were the days, pity I didn't earn much in the SAAF!!

That has always been the problem for all of us I suppose, as time goes by, the stuff gets harder to find and far more expensive!
