Just a mere glance is more than enough to tell me that this is one not to buy, if it were actually part of a larger group and had been worn by the recipient, then I would look upon it in a different light, but, as is, no!

I used to own that medal to McCarthy along with his KSA (equally atrociously renamed) and his CGHGSM to which he was entitled and which was named correctly. I moved them on many years ago and am surprised to see that they were separated.

Thomas McCarthy was a bad lot and if memory serves me correctly, he forfeited any claim to Boer War medals owing to misconduct. A colourful character!
