I didn't realise that. I note that when I transcribed the Natal roll I erroneously attributed the Y&L Cont to the Y&L Regiment. I need to correct that.

The Lancashire and Yorkshire Contingent was raised for service in the rebellion from the Lancashire and Yorkshire Association in South Africa by Sir Abraham Bailey, a Yorkshire man on his father's side of the family.
