Frank,

'Dull' is quite a good word to sum up the selection of QSAs on offer in this auction. We are perhaps spoilt by those catalogues that contain high quality medals and expect that every quarter? We will see what Spink have to offer in a few weeks time.

Good morning David,
Yes, not very bright is it, the Natal 1906's are really nice to see and do offer a cheaper option, they are also really quite scarce to find these days, lot 974 is most unusual though, I would find a little place for that pair! :)
Kind regards Frank

I was wrong with my suspicion about the source of the Natal Rebellion medals. The suspected ones were all issued to officers and, presumably, have yet to appear on the market.

The QSA's and Rebellion medals are indeed very ordinary, although there is one amongst the latter that would fill a gap in my collection.
