In defence of City Coins they did tell me to expect to wait around 6 weeks in total, so not panicking just yet.

YEs they told me they are doing that.

But they took weeks and it will take yet another 2 weeks to get to me.

And it costs more that when other companies courier from South Africa. A lot more.

I believe they are gouging us to make a profit on the shipping.

I've received an email today explaining the delay, larger auction, more successful bidders than usual and that the lots will be shipped and should be received next week.

I think that if you buy overseas, the additional cost of postage/packing does have to be taken into consideration, at the end of the day, the companies that exist to actually provide the service, do have to make a profit, it is certainly better to buy a number of lots rather than just simply one or two, but, ultimately, as long as you already know the likely cost, before you commit yourself, is all that is really necessary.
