It is a little worrying that this seller appears to believe the Imperial Light Horse was a cavalry regiment in the British Army.

At Elandslaagte the charge of the 5th Lancers and Imperial Light Horse was perhaps more properly the last British Cavalry charge (being a couple of years after Omdurman).

I thought I should include a screenshot to show the estimate as you would surely have thought a mistake had been made had I typed it myself.

Lawley's QSA made £350 (hammer price).

Certainly the estimate did appear perhaps a little conservative.

Then again, there is commission as well as VAT to be added, notwithstanding, I do think it is important to bare in mind just how that medal was actually earned by it's recipient, a consummate professional, who would have likely to have been stuck out on the wretched "rock" at the Grand Casemate had there actually been no "Teatime" War.

I still like that medal, no matter the awful price!
