Hello Ian,
Well you can pick up a bargain sometimes, I don't use ebay and I think it is important to be able to see what you are buying, these days, it is normally the case that a mortgage needs to be taken to buy a medal to an Elandslaagte participant.
The 5th Dragoon Guards are special as there was only the single, though, rather large squadron there on the 21st of October, available to Major Gore and he used this force very well in the "evening chase" as I like the think of it.
Iain, I like all medals to the Manchester's in particular those to their 1st battalion for their epic defence of Manchester Fort and Caesars Camp on the 6th of January.
I very much like your medal, they also did really well at Elandslaagte, the battle was, indeed, a very bloody one!
Again, your medal is a most unusual one, I hope his KSA still exists and you find it one day.
Kind regards Frank

£380 including postage for the pair to Edwards is a good price I think.

Good morning David,
I think that price is cheap by todays standards as long as there are no issues with them of course.

Agreed. There were no pictures of the rim.

Good morning David,
I have not bought any Elandslaagte for a long time now, the problem is that they have become just so expensive, when I originally collected the ABW, they could be had for very little money, sadly, no longer.
I suspect that your own book may have something to do with that! :)

I agree with David, good and really rather rare too!

I am sure many of us have been in that situation. It is probably best not to reflect to much on the past, as Doug suggests.

The group to Cook is excellent. The combination of BSA CM and QSA is a great one in my opinion.

Best wishes
David
