Just converting that: GBP £1,900, AUD 3,400 or Can$ 3,200. There's certainly not many of those around.

Did anyone attend? Any idea what P196 the group to Mitchell went for? I had a crack but I don't think I tried hard enough. I think the SAGS/Natal/LS is a rare combination.

That makes two of us Ryan! A very handsome price but then the medals were rather special.

The third medal auction to be taking place on 19 June (the others being Warwick and Warwick and Bonhams).

The following 7 TG QSAs are all ex DNW last month.

S006 Pte S.J. McCONELL Barkley West T.G. VF+ 2000

S007 21 Pte D.J. OOSTUIZEN Victoria West T.G. VF+ 2000

S008 Pte G. DEANE Bedford T.G. VF+ 2000

S009 Pte W.A. ISAAC Molteno T.G. VF+ 2000

S010 270 Pte J.A. LOCKHART Windsrtn and WDBG T.G. VF+ 2000

S011 20 Pte H. MALAN Wellington T.G. VF 2000

S012 Pte A. WARD Steylerville T.G. VF 2000

Interestingly, the reserve is often lower than the sale price, occasionally by quite a margin. For example, 21 Pte. D. J. Oosthuizen. Victoria West T.G. sold for (including commission) £210.80. The reserve is R2000 or £106 (ex commission).
