Those must rank as some of the worst copies that I have ever seen! :(

A quick check verified that he was not an omission from my book and instead that he earned the CC and OFS clasps only (WO100/168p263 refers).

His 5 clasp medal for sale (buy it now (not a recommendation!) at £560) contains an additional three clasps all of which are copies:

David,

These are indeed schockers. Just hope no one gets stung by this seller.

Thanks Frank, SAPHA & David,

Fortunately I did have reservations on this one as it did look odd to me. I have since pulled the pin on the purchase and kept my money in my bank account. Thanks again for the input.

Cheers
Stephen

I would agree with the comments already posted that you Rhodesia clasp is a copy.

Here's another copy clasp that has appeared on eBay. Below is an original for comparison.

Frank I have to agree with you there....nasty!

Whilst in Simonstown 2 weeks back I was doing what I do best, much to the annoyance of my better half...scratching through second hand shops. In one of them happened upon a small box of ribbon bars, MID emblems etc. lo and behold there at the bottom was a SA 1901 clasp, paid the chap the pricely sum of 3 pounds at the current exchange rate (R50.00) :woohoo: was I happy, I needed one for one of my Colonial Chaps medals.

1901 clasps are the hardest date bars to find or so I am told.

Brian
