Adrian,
Totally agree, its easy in these times to forget what hand writing looked like

Cheers
Paul :)

What made me take a second look was that I have always noticed on the papers they state for example next to Education: 1st Class Certificate or 2nd Class Certificate etc.

They never wrote "Some" if indeed the chap had a qualification so I thought that "None" would therefore be correct.

Regards
Adrian

A very good medal, accompanied by a striking badge. I agree with David about your photography. As usual, I will be looking forward to seeing the next QSA to be added to your collection.

Gentlemen,
It was quite normal to leave these blank, writing in "none" was more unusual!

coldstream wrote: Hi Adrian,

Thank you for your observations.
Looking again I would say you are correct.
What confused me was under "injuries in or by service" I assumed that would have to read "Some" not "None"
I read them all as "Some" wishful thinking I guess

Cheers
Paul :)

Are you sure that the word you are looking at is "Some" in special instances of gallant conduct?

I believe that it is "None" have a look at the word "hand" on Gun Shot to Hand, the "n" is written in the same style and is the same as the word None in Education and Instruction!!!

Just a thought.

Cheers
Adrian

Good morning Paul,
Another good medal bought here, did you buy at the last fair you went to, I find this medal to be familiar, last time I saw it, I think it was one of the main stream dealer's that had it, the regt was in the thick of it at Paardeberg!
