Rank and file BSAP are so often a real pain backside from just a medal point of view, notwithstanding, a great many were from our towns and cities.
If I were you, in the interest, purely, of research, I would go for a "well known" member of the Town Guard, a Cape Policeman or a member of the Protectorate Regiment, this latter being SAMIF.

Have you got a good relief, I used to find really nice ones rather harder to find than a defence when I originally collected, if not, I suppose you would need and indeed, actually want two examples to both Plumer's and Mahon's forces.

To say that he was very excited would have been an understatement when I told him about it and where it was......
He knew that the medals (Family that is) including some from WW1 and WW2 existed but other than a couple of WW1 medals he obtained he thought that he would never see them again.....
