The single to Sgt Amner looks interesting and again, I wonder if the guide price is realistic, bearing in mind how collectable these are, to us anyway!

Checking the sale results, the QSA to Sgt Amner sold for a hammer price of £800. The estimate had been £600-£800.

QSA to Gunner H Hindes, 66th battery RFA, killed in action at Colenso on 15th December 1899.

It is a new acquisition and I actually went to the gun emplacements during my last visit to SA, amazing, for me that is.

Doug.

Congratulations on a great addition to your collection. It is great pity that the area near the site of the Colenso guns has been spoilt by human activity. A clear view across the Tugela and a decent memorial was all that was required.

Brett
