Mr G.V. ROBERTSON, who has lately returned from South Africa, was entertained yesterday afternoon at the Union Club Hotel by members of the chaff and grain trades. Mr C.W. Derham presided, and proposed the health of Mr ROBERTSON, to whom, on behalf of the subscribers, he presented a gold medal, bearing the following inscription: – "To Lance-corporal G.V. Robertson, who served with the Bushmen's Contingent, South Africa, 1900-01, from his trade friends, Melbourne". On the reverse side is Mr Robertson's monogram.

At the Union Club Hotel yesterday a large number of those Interested In the grain and chaff trades in the city attended to welcome Lance-Corporal ROBERTSON, of the Bushmen's Contingent, back from the war. ROBERTSON, when leaving as a private, was presented with a horse by a number of those in the grain and chaff 'trades, and today Mr C.W. Derham, acting for these trades, presented the lance-corporal with a gold medal as a memento of the campaign.
