Grice | George | | Lieutenant | Died on December 26th, 1901, of wounds received in action at Tweefontein, in De Wet's attack on Christmas morning. He was holding the temporary rank of Captain, whilst acting as adjutant of the 11th (Middlesex and Kent) Battalion Imperial Yeomanry. He was born January 1879, and entered the Scottish Rifles November 1898, was promoted Lieutenant October 1899, and granted the temporary rank of Captain April 1901. Captain Grice accompanied his battalion to South Africa in October 1899, and served from the commencement of the war, being mentioned in despatches LG February 8th 1901. He was buried at Tweefontein, and his name is inscribed on an obelisk which was erected there, in memory of all those who fell in this action
