Burton | Arthur Collingwood | | 2nd Lieutenant | He died while en route to Cape Town in a hospital train from the front, on November 26th, 1899, of wounds received in the head in action at Belmont three days previously. He was the eldest son of Alfred H Burton, of Mansion Place, Queen's Gate, was born April 4th, 1878, educated at Winchester, and entered the Coldstream Guards in May 1898. 2nd Lieutenant Burton was the first officer of that regiment to lose his life in the campaign. He is buried at Wynberg.
