He was the son of Sir Augustus Frederick Webster, Bart, by his marriage with Amelia Sophia, 2nd daughter of Charles Frederick Augustus Prosser-Hastings of Taunton, Somerset. Captain Webster was born in 1872, and was educated at Eton.
