Hi David,
Yes I have used this section quite often and read the occasional chapter.
I have seen a nice copy on ebay listed a few times but not taken the plunge!
At the moment I am reading Arthur Conan Doyle superb account.

Paul :)

Hi Paul,

I also enjoyed Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's account of "The Great Boer War,"
although I personally thought that he was a little bias, 1. towards Milner and the British government's true intentions and 2. in his estimation of the amount of Boers involved in the war.
But having said that I believe he covered every confrontation that occurred which other authors don't seem to do unfortunately.

regards, Iain

I look forward to reading that you enjoyed Gibson's ILH book as much I did. During the past few months, I got rid of a great many books, but one that has a permanent place on the much reduced book shelves is Gibson's.

Hi Brett,
thanks for the recommendation; I am looking forward to many a Saturday afternoon, sitting outside reading with a WHK nearby ;)

I was lucky enough to meet Philip Mussell from Token publishing at the Wakefield medal fair on Sunday.
He had most of Tokens publications on his stand including Davids books.
I could not resist buying the Talana and Kimberley books which I have wanted for a while, I always resisted because of the postage costs (they are very heavy books!)
I now have the full set and await Wepener to add to my collection.
Started reading Talana last night, it looks like it will keep me busy through the winter evenings.

A long time since I posted on this thread, I have been trying to read my existing books before buying more!
I was lucky enough to find Vol 1 & 2 of Cassells "History of The Boer War 1899-1902" at the weekend for a bargain price.
Only had time for a quick flick through and they look fairly concise, look like being good reference volumes.
