Hi Frank

The Talana was a 5 clasp to the RIF non casualty.
Just checked in David's book and is verified but entitled to KSA
Asking price was £500 but I could of purchased for 450
The lack of KSA and papers put me off.

Did you have a good morning then, tell me about this Talana that you did not buy, which unit was it, moreover, how much was the asking price?
Regards Frank

Hi Doug
Yes that was my lovely wife who shares the driving for me :)
David was opposite Chris Dixons table

I did see a lady with a flask in the cafe, perhaps that was the other half?

I did also overhear a conversation about bringing some medals out from under the table when it got busy, but that didn't happen until I was leaving.

I went round twice and didn't see anything, where was David sitting?

Paul,

That sounds like a strong price for the Talana and hence why a good discount was available?

Kind regards
David

Yes, he did have a few NFF QSA's, including casualties, but they were in pretty bad condition, hence the prices around the £250-£300 mark, but I have to say, even though I looked twice and offered him an excellent Wheelwright QSA/KSA pair to purchase from me, I still didn't see the talana bar. But, as you say, with the lack of KSA, probably not worth the purchase, and that price tag is rather on the high side, even at £450.

Still, at least the discussions with some of the dealers was worth it, and although some say the market is good, for QSA's generally, they are getting harder to find but seem to be holding the price, but not increasing too much, so they say!!

I may have been more tempted at £380-400
