Oh ok. I didn't take too long at his table, for that reason. He still has his Elandslaagte DCM group, although very nice, sitting on his table!

Hello Paul,
I would not have been remotely interested, you walked away, that is just what I would have done, though not, perhaps, because of the price, they have increased in value these days, however, remember that Talana is not a rare clasp on medals to the British Army.
Much better to bide your time and get a good example that ticks every box.
Kind regards Frank

I may have been more tempted at £380-400

Paul :)

That sounds like a strong price for the Talana and hence why a good discount was available?

Kind regards

Totally agree with Frank. It is tough when there is a dry patch, and tempting to get something new, but that elusive one will come along! I think the longest time I have been without a new purchase, because of lack of items or too expensive in my view, is about 10 months, but well worth it in the end to get the right one and tick those boxes.

To be quite honest, we are living in a country, where QSA's are very common medals, notwithstanding, if money did not enter into it at all, we can just go out and buy a hundred or so without any problems on the same day! :)

Quality or quantity? I agree with you there are plenty about and I could have bought 70+ today, but not, in my opinion, quality for me, both in my collecting tastes and value for money.

Speaking of collecting, just a quick question, do we have any form of medal tracker in the forum?
