I have a few items of china that date to the Boer war and thought they might be of interest. I have another on its way to me.

Hi Jerry.......

Strongly suggest that you try and get yourself a copy of:

BOER WAR MEMORABILIA, THE COLLECTORS GUIDE, by Pieter Oosthuizen, Alderman Press, 1987

It shows up on ebay occasionally.....

I had a look for it Mike, it will have to go on my xmas list.

I picked up another plate, well I had it in the post before I started the thread.

Perhaps the book would confirm the dating as the makers backstamp is considered to be circa 1907.

Great thread, lovely pictures.

The last plate is not in Oosthuizen's book, which is not proof this isn't ABW. But, I think the image of French is post ABW - the uniform has the look of senior staff/Field Marshal? (promoted to that rank 1913). The slogan "Conquer or Die" is very melodramatic, and I don't quite get it; conquer the Boers, conquer the Germans?.
