Good Morning Everyone.....

I know that this is a bit off subject but I thought I would share.....

Bought the one on the right (Natal) from ebay a couple of weeks ago and arrived on Tuesday.....

Yesterday was in one of my local antique shops and they showed me the one on the left (Canadian)......

Have not seen these before and to find 2 in a couple of days is fantastic.....

The ones that I have are: Canadian Field Artillery and Natal Carbineers.....

Interesting little piece of paper that I am sure the majority have been lost in the sands of time....

Thanks to both Mike and Henk for showing items that I had not seen before. Although the 1902 Coronation is 'off topic', the men from Natal who attended it had all served in the Boer War. I have looked in vain for medal groups of men who went to London and were awarded the 1902 Coronation Medal - silver for officers and bronze for other ranks. Below are examples of these medals.

Still wandering 'off topic', the loyal Colony of Natal had Coronation medals struck for presentation to certain people who were left out of the delegation to London. The medals were in three sizes - large (51 mm in diameter), medium (29 mm) and small (21 mm), which were given respectively to native chiefs, local dignitaries and schoolchildren.

Examples of the large and medium medals are shown below.
