If you do not already have one, you first need a reader's ticket. This can be gained on your first visit and takes about 20 minutes. Armed with a ticket, you can then use one of the computers to request the boxes. Depending how busy they are, the boxes can take 20 - 30 minutes to arrive on the reading floor. Once there, you can look at one box at a time at one of the available desks.

You can only have a few boxes on request at any one time so you need to start requesting more boxes once you have looked through the first ones.

The staff on site are very helpful and there are online guides to help too.
