QSA (1) Natal (Captain H.C.Simpson. F.I.D.)

Not located on roll of Field Intelligence Department, however, in the book titled 'Fields of Battle: Terrain in Military History' edited by P.Doyle, and Matthew R.Bennett it states, 'On arrival on this front, Buller set up a Field Intelligence Department including Captain A. Kenny Herbert and Captain H.C.Simpson which compiled a map of the area along the Tugela which had to be taken to advance to Ladysmith.'

Contrary to what Noble state, his QSA is listed on WO100/301p58.

David
The Buxton FID book shows him as having the clasps Natal and SA 1901. I also had a look at Tpr. Way (RofL and Wepener) - with a similar result to yours.
Best regards
IL.

In the next Spink sale is the QSA to Agent Pearce but there's no picture and no research or verification.

QSA (2) Cape Colony, South Africa 1902 (Agent F. Pearce. F.I.D.),

CC is listed on Wo100/301p65 and SA02 on WO100/301p118.

In this month's Medal News is an article by Mike Kippin who purchased the KSA (2) named to Captain G Middleton, FID in 2018. He received QSA (4) Paardeberg, Driefontein, Johannesburg and Relief of Kimberley from the Scots Greys and Diamond Hill and Wittebergen from Kitchener's Horse. He later served in the Great War.

The author is seeking his other medals.
