There has been discussion on this forum about the number of Sanna's Post veterans among the 'Q' Battery men presented with medals by Lord Roberts in January 1902.

When the contingent landed at Southampton on 6 January the Cheltenham Chronicle (11 January) reported that it numbered 4 officers and 86 men, '32 of whom were present at the disaster'.

At the presentation a few days later Lord Roberts presented 34 'Q' Battery Sanna's Post men with medals. A further 10 survivors, who had subsequently been posted to 'A' and 'B' Depots RHA, also received their medals.
