If you touch and hold on the words you want to do something with, it will come up with copy, move, select etc, copy and then on your separate email, just paste in into the email!!

Well, I secured 190 (six battle bars to the BG) and took the winning bidder on 19 pretty far: not far enough. I found auction 64 to be better than the previous.

Brett,

I believe Pts Martin was on the Warren Hastings.

Martin, 7287 Private H, King's Royal Rifle Corps, 1st Battalion | QSA (4) Tal DoL Tr LN, KSA (2) | Number 7278 on KSA Roll. A Warren Hastings survivor. IGS (1) RoC, QSA (4), KSA (2) | Ref: QSA: WO100/196p50 KSA: WO100/339p179.

A very nice addition to your collection.

Best wishes
David

Many thanks for that information, David! I am very pleased indeed! Thanks to Irv Mortensen, I have very detailed records of the KRRC service in India and South Africa, but missing is the roll of the 'Warren Hastings' survivors.

Regards and thanks again.

Hello Ian,
I must say that I am enjoying reading about the mad scramble for medals from this sale, I dare not even think about asking the final price you have to pay, is it possible to pay too much, let me think for a moment, no, it isn't :woohoo: , but, this lot is a super medal and really rather rare, the discription is misleading, the original body guard was just forty six hand picked men, your man served from the 23rd of January 1900, however this corps was only raised officially on the 31st of January 1900 in Capetown, the original strength was intended to be 11 squadrons.
I would now, if I were you, consult WO126/31-34 at Kew, it really is a superb QSA, moreover, one of the best in the whole sale, I'm so glad it has gone to a good home, anyway, I wish you bon chance,
Seasons greetings Ian,
Kind regards Frank

Thanks for the reply. Can we pay too much? All of us can say "yes" at one point; however not in the case of A64/190. When I get the chance to have some research done on this one, I will bear in mind your kind guidance.
Best regards for the new year - and with not too many "mad scrambles" in it!
