And effective midnight tonight our post office is going out on strike...….

This is also the first time I have not received a hard copy of the catalogue. The SA PO probably has an unequaled record for all kinds of negative reasons. This week I received a postcard from a friend, which was posted in the Netherlands on 2 May, and I count myself as fortunate to have received it at all.

PS At about now the SA PO is to take over the monthly payments of social pensions to the 17 million people who qualify. Good luck to them!

I have to say that this unique system is quite uplifiting. I know that Natalie really tries to 'assist' everyone and its a welcome personal touch. I have two bids in and selling 12 items, so here's fingers crossed!

Sorry to hear that, Brett.

Let's hope the SAPO can do a much better job with your pension payments.

I am awaiting 1 Jiffy Bag (the medal) from San Francisco and one from P.E.I. the other side of North America with over 400 pages of his letters and diaries..... Those are the ones I am worried about...…

Fortunately the SA PO has nothing to do with my pension fund, which dates back to the Old SA and which is controlled by a independent Board of Trustees. It has survived intact despite the recent financial upheavals in SA.

Mike
The Canadian PO is probably following the lead of their South African colleagues.
