I was looking through the NMR medal roll entries on Ancestry and hadn't been able to find a single man with a KSA entry but Jon's document explains why.

Looking more closely at the NMR KSA roll, it looks like they have used the Regimental Number column (or the column to its left) to indicate the issue of the KSA or 'X" for no issue.
