The prices listed by Medals of England are indeed astounding. Perhaps they are not unrealistic as I have been told that unusually high prices have recently been paid for some medals in South Africa. Is it because investors are buying them and putting them away in safety deposit boxes for the next umpteen years? Whatever the reason, it makes my collecting prospects very gloomy. I must now subtract from my collection before adding to it.
