I have always regarded the medal to Herbert Paris as being an important and a particularly pleasing example, one that I would and indeed, should have bought, when opportunity presented itself.

What a difference 2 years makes.

David - This post on the BMF on 10th September may well have adversely influenced the bidding on the Paris QSA.

When I sold this medal over 20 years ago it was with research by "Fred" Scott showing that Mr.Paris was also issued with a QSA with a "Talana" bar, his name being entered on two rolls.
An email from me to the current cataloguer when the catalogue was in draft form was not replied to.

Obviously I don't know the ins and outs of this case but the implication that there may have been a duplicate issue could well have put potential bidders off.

Paris received his QSA (1) Tal from the Dundee TG roll (WO100/281p20).

He also received a no clasp medal from the Civilian Government Employees roll (WO100/279p122) which is also retained:
