David - Another description error by DNW. The Leicesters took no part in the action on Wagon Hill but did form part of the defensive force at other points on the perimeter of Ladysmith. This follows on from their last auction when they stated Benson died of wounds at Elandslaagte and Donohoe died of wounds at Nicholson's Nek when they both died of wounds in Ladysmith hence the DoL clasps on their QSAs!

DNW probably took their information, as did I, from the Natal Field Force casualty roll p72 which lists Private Richardson as being severely wounded on 6 January. Do you think he was wounded elsewhere or not wounded all?

NFF states "Ladysmith", someone has made an assumption. Why couldn't he have been wounded that daty but not at Wagon Hill?
