Hello Anthony,

Very nice indeed. Thanks for posting this fine group.

Sadly his papers have not survived which is a great pity. They could however, be in Pretoria if he carried on into WW1. I have found that some of the papers were transferred to Pretoria if a man served later on in WW1 and became an Officer.

Adrian,

Not sure whether this will be of interest. The next John Nicolson auction has a KSA (2) awarded to 450 SERJT. W. E. LEPPAN C. P. DIST

David,

Thank you for the heads up. It seems that he was Walter Leppan, who re attested into the CP in May of 1905 with the Reg number 1660 so therefore would have been around for a while. He was also entitled to the CGHGS medal as well as the QSA both with the Reg number 450.

I have the following SAC group of 4:

QSA (4 bar) 2334 E. J. Dickson SAC
14/15 Trio Sgt. E.J. Dickson Rustenburg CDO.

I never got around to looking into this group, but I would imagine it would be an interesting story. I must put it on my "to do" list.

Wombat,
James.
