It is noteworthy that the description says:

The Eleven medals comprising of - Distinguished Service Order as awarded by King Edward VII - British South Africa Company's Medal with Mashonoland 1897 Clasp - A Queens South Africa Medal with Orange Free State, Laing's neck, Transvaal, Relief of Ladysmith, and Tugela Heights Clasps - A Kings South Africa Medalwith South Africa 1901 and 1902 Clasps. - Natal Rebellion medal 1906 clasp - A 1914-15 Medal - A Brittish War Medal 1914 - 1918 - a VICTORY MEDAL 1914-1919 - A Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers Decoration - Union of South Africa Commemoration Medal - National Order of The Legion of Honour

However the DSO has a GV cypher not Ed VII. He was not awarded a VR or ED VII DSO.

The description and write-up (what write-up?) do not do the man and medals the justice they deserve.

Good evening David,
The one think I notice here is that the actual naming on each medal is not mentioned whatsoever!
Kind regards Frank

Indeed, a disappointing research effort.

I did find this from a 2010 City Coins catalogue:

Brig.-Gen. Sir Duncan McKenzie K.C.M.G. (1907), C.B. (1902), C.M.G. (1900), D.S.O. (1918), V.D. (1903). He served in four campaigns - Rhodesia 1896, Anglo-Boer War (3 MiD), Natal 1906-7 (MiD) as O.C. of the Colonial Forces, GWSA 1914-15 (MiD & Legion of Honour). He received the Union of South Africa 1910 Medal, and the Royal Humane Society Medal (1901) for saving a Trooper of the 5th lancers from drowning. He was appointed Commandant of the Natal Militia Forces in 1907. VLSM (1901) as Maj. Natal Carbineers, and VD as Lt.-Col. Natal Carbineers.

He is listed as receiving the CMG for the Boer War.

Does eBay investigate false listings and do something to stop them? Probably not, since that would interrupt the smooth flow of making profits. Presumably, this particular instance was manufactured locally and there is a limited list of suspects.

I had meant to add to my previous post that Sir Duncan was a little chap! His boots are child-sized!
