The pair to Sergeant B. C. Kearns, Kimberley Town Guard, late One Star Diamond Contingent. DNW Sep 2015.

SAGS (1) 1878 (Tpr. B. C. Kearns, One Star Diamd. Contgt.)
QSA (1) DoK (Serjt. B. C. Kearns, Kimberley Town Gd.)

169 South Africa Medals were awarded to the One Star Diamond Contingent, all bar one of them with the clasp for ‘1878’. Kearns subsequently served in No. 1 Company, ‘F’ Section of the Kimberley Town Guard’s Medical Corps.

A BSACM / DoK pair from the next DNW auction

QSA (1) DOK (Serjt: A. J. Muir. Kimberley Town Gd:)

Only 18 medals for Rhodesia 1896 to the Band of the Bulawayo Field Force. Sergeant Albert John Muir served in the defence of Kimberley as part of the Kenilworth Defence Force. He served with Gorringe’s Flying Column from 4 February 1901.

Albert John Muir was a policeman.

From his time in GFC, he earned SA01 and would have earned CC.
