These are the references that I have found on the South African Archives site (NAAIRS):
www.national.archsrch.gov.za
He died in 1944 in Natal and was married to Elizabeth Ellen Beattie, who died in 1953.
They married in Escourt, Natal on 7 February 1914, he was about 38yrs and she was 34yrs of age.

Reference "South Africa, Natal Province, Civil Marriages, 1845-1955," database with images, FamilySearch ( familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KDCR-WSR : 10 March 2018), Charles Gordon Fisher and Elizabeth Ellen Beattie, 07 Feb 1914; citing Estcourt, Natal, South Africa; 00531; National Archives and Records Service of South Africa, Pretoria; 1,795,574."

The middle reference shows that the Magistrate of Weenen requested deputation for sergeant Charles Gordon Fisher in 1901.
