Thanks Meurig......

I was talking to a fellow collector who gave me that information...... That is all he collects is BSAC, Defence of Mafeking and being an ex-member of BSAP medals to that unit...... And he was working from memory......

Hi All,

A recent purchase from DNW's auction.

QSA with DoL clasp to Pte J A Cowan, Ladysmith Town Guard. It will sit nicely next the QSA with DoL clasp to Pte G Cowan, Ladysmith Town Guard.

Now to hunt down the medal to R Cowan.

Cheers,

Jim

I have no idea Rory. At a guess I would say yes. The chance of three members of a small unit with the same surname not being related even distantly would be remote. There is a fourth Cowan who served in the NVAC and his QSA was auctioned by DNW some years back.
I will have to obtain copies of their enlistment papers to see if there are similar nok.
Cheers,
Jim
